NEMUNO7 in Zapyškis is a cultural venue on the Nemunas. Find out about the visiting season, where to check opening hours and how to include it in an outing around Kaunas.
NEMUNO7 is a former river dredger transformed into a cultural venue in Zapyškis. Built in 1965 in what was then Czechoslovakia, the vessel took on its new role on the left bank of the Nemunas in spring 2022 as part of the European Capital of Culture programme.
The boat explores the theme of water through art, history and science. It hosts exhibitions, creative activities and meetings, so plan your visit around the published programme. It is a stop for visitors interested in contemporary culture and river-engineering heritage in Zapyškis.
The official tourism centre website gives the visiting season as May–September. The boat can only be entered during opening hours; check the current schedule and event conditions before travelling. You could combine the outing with other places in Zapyškis, allowing travel time based on your actual route.
