Romuva, at Laisvės al. 54, is Lithuania's oldest cinema and the only historic cinema still operating in Kaunas.
Romuva is a cinema at Laisvės al. 54 on Laisvės Alėja in central Kaunas, Lithuania's oldest and Kaunas's only operating historic cinema.
In 2008, the building was designated a cultural heritage property. In 2015, Kaunas received the European Heritage Label for its interwar modernist architecture, with Romuva cinema among the significant buildings recognised.
Romuva offers more than a traditional cinema space. You could combine your visit with the nearby M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art or the Vytautas the Great War Museum, then visit Višta Puode or Kavinė 49 after the film.
